CHARITIES

The City of Clearwater would not be as flourished without the help of the entire community. Organizations, businesses and the people of Clearwater come together in order to give back.

We understand that those with kind hearts and simple demands should not be affected in these hard economic times. All of these Charities have a common focus of connecting our community to our waters, enabling children and adults alike to enjoy the paradise in which we live.

The success of these events with the support of businesses and individuals throughout the community helped provide funding for the following charities:

CLEARWATER COMMUNITY

SAILING CENTER

The Mission of the Clearwater Community Sailing Center is to provide safe, enriching and affordable sailing opportunities to local residents and visitors, including youth, seniors and the disabled for the enjoyment and benefit of our entire community.

Vision: The Vision of CCSC is to become the region’s most comprehensive, premier, all-year round sailing center.

Values:

  • Committed to providing a physically and emotionally safe environment for all of our members and visitors.

  • Believe and follow the principle of inclusion. We welcome and encourage everyone to participate in our activities regardless of age, gender, race, creed, place of origin, financial status or physical ability.

  • Promote respect and appreciation for one’s self, others, society as a whole and the natural environment.

  • Strive for continual improvement of individuals and organizations. The CCSC recognizes that this can be facilitated through healthy competition and the cooperation among various individuals and groups.

  • Promote the development of  sportsmanship.

SAILABILITY TAMPA BAY

We are a group of dedicated volunteers who envisioned and implemented an opportunity within our community to bring the sport of sailing to those individuals who were physically challenged, so they could partake in this fun activity. Sailability Greater Tampa Bay is a 501(c)3 organization.

Since our inception, we have been able to have a positive impact on many individuals. Our program has graduated many sailors who are mentally or physically challenged, as well as able bodied children, adults, and seniors. Some of the physically challenged individuals we’ve been proud to serve include quadriplegics, paraplegics, amputees, stroke survivors, and those with neurological impairments such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and multiple sclerosis.

We are very proud and appreciative that all of Sailability’s accomplishments have been made possible because of our extremely dedicated volunteer staff.

Our Mission

Sailability Greater Tampa Bay’s mission is to provide affordable, accessible, sailing activities and education to children and adults of all abilities, focusing on community integration to improve the quality of life for all involved.
